We left today for a highly anticipated trip to the Oregon coast.
Earlier this year my cousin Lindsey and her husband Abe invited us to join them on the Oregon coast for some ATV riding and beach time. We couldn't commit to the trip at the time because it was just after Pete got out of the hospital and things felt so uncertain but I had penciled it in on our calendar.
As the trip got closer we decided to commit, it felt like the perfect way for our family to end the summer.
We decided to get a few hours of the drive under our belt today so we left when Gregg was done working.
The kids were awesome in the car. I had no idea what to expect, they are usually great in the car but we have never done a trip this far. We went to the library yesterday and got books to look at {specifically I Spy books} and I filled their travel bags with games, toys and coloring books.
As you can see sleeping was a big hit!
We stayed the night in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Before going to bed the boys needed to get out a little extra energy!!!
More road tripping tomorrow.
