Book Club.

We had book club today.  We read Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner.  The story it's self is not that interesting.  There is no big love story to follow, drama, death, etc.  It is a simple story about two couples who are friends - but you learn of their deep compassion for each other and a powerful insight to friendship and marriage.  We had a great discussion about friendship and marriage and it made me like the book more {that always happens; I like the book more after our book club discussions}.

Kelli hosted in her beautiful home up Mirror Lake highway in Kamas.  She is a lover of food and made us an amazing breakfast; cinnamon waffles with caramelized apples and fresh whipped cream.  And maple syrup bacon with pepper.  Thank you Kelli!
Although I liked the book more after discussing it, I am still only giving it two stars out of five.

Next we are reading My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok.
I already picked it up from the library.

Family.

Some family was in town this weekend for my cousins graduation from BYU.  Today I had my parents over along with my aunt and uncle and two of their kids for man burgers on the grill, fresh grilled veggies, fresh strawberries with homemade coconut cream and angel food cake.

Christine, Allen, David and Angela Quinn
{aka: Washington Quinns or "double cousins"}
my aunt Christine is my mom's sister and my uncle Allen is my dad's brother ... so they are my "double" aunt and uncle and "double cousins"

kid of fun!

Tonight I met my mom and aunt and cousin in Park City for some shopping - we had alot of fun.

Three.

Truman turned three today.  The day started with a candle in his breakfast.
 Cousins came to play {Presley and Stella came after school}.

 Party favors.
A new bike and helmet.
New family rule - wake up, put helmet on, wear helmet all day!
 Gift made and wrapped by Enoch.

 The cake!
I was happy with how it turned out - thanks to Tara for helping me make the frosting ... the good kind!
I thought an Angry Birds or Thomas the Train party would be really cute for Truman.  He was fixated on a volleyball party {!?}  Last week when we went to the party store he decided on a soccer ball party.
Cute!
 Concentration.

 Bodie made his way over to the kid table to try some cake.
 Anna.
Walking.
 Giving rides on the new bike.

 Surprise guest, uncle McKay.
Gregg and my dad worked on a project most of the afternoon ... a post about that later {!}
 Bodie and Grandma Quinn.
Happy Third Birthday.
