regional champs.

Last night our young woman WON their final basketball game against the best Heber Stake Team {and last week they beat the best Heber East Stake team}.  They are the best church ballers in our entire region!  I am so happy for them - they have played almost every week for the last three months!
Truman took our basketball and dribbled up and down the court the entire game and then he would run out and play on the court during timeouts and quarters.  He loved going to watch them play each week.

The best part - they got t-shirts that say "Utah Regional Basketball Champions" on them!  How cool is that! {I got one too!}

I am so proud of them.  They had such a fun time and for a lot of the girls it was their first time ever playing basketball!  Team work!

3.

This little girl had a birthday today!  We stopped by to surprise her with balloons.
She once was two...
...and now she is three.
Truman was determined to fill the Hopinsons volleyball with air so they could play with it.  He went out in the garage and found this pump, and then put Jean to work pumping!
They make a great team!
That's what cousins are for!

Happy third birthday Jean!

We did yoga tonight for mutual.
It was fun and also kind of relaxing.
 Truman went with me.
 He likes yoga.
And basketball.

Book Club.

We had book club today.  We read Sarah's Key by Tatiana De Rosnay.  This is a really sad book.  It's about the 1942 Vel' d"Hiv Roundup that took place in Paris.  There are a lot of characters in this book - sp keep a note pad near by if you read it.  The chapters alternate between the 1942 story of Sarah in a Nazi camp and a journalists named Julia in 2009 writing about the events of 1942.  And of course their two lives collide {I won't spoil the plot}.
A few nights before book club a few of my girlfriends came over and we watched the movie Sarah's Key.
It was even more sad then the book.  I thought Kristin Scott Thomas did a great job playing Julia.
Thanks Karen for hosting and serving a wonderful spinach quiche, fruit and orange juice!
I can't bring myself to give this book more then two stars.

Next we are reading Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner

Friday Flashbacks.

My mother-in-law just gave this to me.  It's a letter Gregg wrote {I think she said for his 8th birthday} on why he thinks the Nintendo is better then the Atari 7800!  It is a pretty good persuasive essay for an eight year old!  Gregg and I laughed so hard when we read it together - he said he remembers writing it.

Why I think the Nintendo is better then the Atari 7800!

1. The graphics are better.
2. I think the games are better because they are harder.
3. The controllers have a B and an A button, a select button, a start button, and it has four arrows instead of a stick.
4. It has a zapper gun and if you are a fraction of an inch off the target you're missed.
5. The Nintendo comes with 2 cartreges, 2 controllers, and zapper light gun for only $99.99.
6. If you buy the power pack Nintendo it comes with 3 cartreges, a huge pad, 2 controllers, and a zapper light gun

{then he makes three big boxes where his parents can mark "Nintendo" "Nintendo power pack" "no"}

If you say yes to the Nintendo or the Nintendo power pack here is twenty dollars to help you buy it.

Love,
Greg

P.S. You can get it at KB Toy store, Lional play world, or Target.

No Husbands.

Our husbands were both out of town on business trip so Tiff and I decided to hang out together for a few days.  Addie and Quinn planned a fun Family Night for everyone Monday night.
"I am a child of God and so are you"
We invited April and Jake over and their two kids to join the chaos!
This girl was being so goofy - starting with that goofy hair!  She was constantly crawling over to my lap to snuggle and cuddle ... we figured she must think I look like Grandma Quinn.
I know this video is not great, but it's Anna's first steps!
This girl is always goofy!
Once the camera turned on Mackenzie she turned goofy too!
You can see the concentration.  She just turned one last week, I can believe it - she is going to be an artist like her dad!

Addie and Truman had a little sleep over - Truman was in heaven having Addie read him bedtime stories.
 Quinn reading to Enoch.
Jean reading to her beloved hippo.
I attempted to make an Easter garland for Tiff's house.
 Sisters.
We felt accomplished after getting seven kids to sleep {not just to bed, to sleep!}  Tiff crawled into bed with me and we stayed up talking and watching the snow fall until way to late.
Today we picked up April, Dallin and Mackenzie and headed to the mall.  I should have taken a picture of that!  Three moms, three strollers and LOTS of kids! It was tons of fun!
