Sundance.

Happy Thanksgiving.
Today we celebrated with the Simons family at Sundance resort.

Truman is thankful for...
I'm thankful for basketball, brother, family and my new house.
We ran into two family friends at Sundance.
Our past neighbors the Berrett's {my kids adore their girls}
And my friend Michelle and her kids {who I served in YW with}.  Her husband had to be out of the country on business.

The kids all coordinated - they could be siblings.
 Tired Truman.
Bodie and the snow glob at the gift shop.  It was magical.
Oh ya, and one last thing ... I got pulled over in Midway on our way to Sundance.  I was going 53 in a 25 {supposedly} luckily I didn't get a ticket {still have never gotten a ticket}.

Quinn Thanksgiving.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Quinn family today.  Because the entire family got together back HERE for Dallin and Becca's wedding we aren't getting together again this year for Thanksgiving or Christmas.  Today we celebrated with Hopkinsons, my parents and my grandparents.
We started off the morning doing a Turkey Trot, we had to burn off the pie we ate for breakfast.
Tiff's friend Anneka, Tiff, Addie, me {not pictured: my parents}  Mine was more of turkey waddle then a trot!
Me and Addie.

When we got home from the turkey trot I found this, Gregg and Bodie enjoying baby Nelson in our bed.
Gregg and babies, melts my heart.
Getting ready for our own.
Truman's turkey from school.  I love how he did the feet.
Stories with his great grandma Arave.

All the kids love Gregg.

Pre dinner naps for Anna.

Jean, Quinn and Addie learning to crochet from their great grandma Arave.
She had made them all the cutest dolls with little crocheted dresses.
Every once in a while Gregg would disappear - I would often find him in the office studying his computer screen very intently.  I finally went over to see what he was doing - he had downloaded a new book and was sneaking away to read it!
I also found him like this - cat nap.
I printed off Thanksgiving cross word puzzles and mazes for the kids to work on at the kid table - my dad stole one away and completed the entire thing while waiting for his dinner.
More naps.
Dinner.
We weren't very organized this year - we only decided about a week ago to get together and celebrate at our new house.  We have no furniture so it makes entertaining interesting - we did decided on two matching sofas for the great room, so I guess that helps.

Gregg didn't want a traditional turkey so we bought a small one that had been deep fat fried to try and then we splurged on a really good spiral cut ham.  Yum.  There wasn't much cooking going on - we played it easy this year and bought everything.

The folding table and chairs - it worked.
I put up the Christmas tree so it didn't feel so empty in the great room.
I love these pictures, I took about 10 but these are my two favorite.
Gregg and Nelson in a stare down.
I wonder what Nelson is thinking?!

We are thankful for our families, the gospel, cousins, health, and good food!
{those were some of the remarks around the table}

The fireplace.

So I had a little surprise of my own for Gregg while he was gone.  I worked so had trying to get little projects on the house finished up, I sometimes had up to seven contractors at the house at a time doing their thing.

One big project left on the house was getting the fireplace rocked.  It is kind of a focal point of the entire main floor {and of the upstairs also}.  Gregg was so worried about the rock not looking good, or that he would not like where the masons put a rock, or the color, etc.  I knew I could manage it without him and I really wanted to surprise him.  They originally told me it would take two full days - ha - more like an entire week and a filthy house!
These guys did a great job and better yet Gregg loved it and loved that it was finally done.
The larger lighter pieces casing the fireplace opening and creating the hearth are limestone that we had specially cut.

Suprise!

We texted these pictures to Gregg on Sunday after church so he wouldn't forget us!  He has been gone for almost two weeks back east on business.  We got the best surprise ever today when he came home a few days early.

We moved into the new house two weekends ago - the next morning Gregg had a 5 AM flight to catch and he has been gone ever since.  I hate being home alone and I hated it even more in a new house - luckily my mom was going a little crazy in her small condo so she spent several days with us.

I am not going to lie - it was a little stressful having Gregg gone.  I managed several sub contractors a day in the house finishing things.  I am happy to turn it all back over to Gregg now :)

Bodie.

Don't be fooled by this cute face, he has been a pill lately.
Bodie at age 2 1/2
I know the quality is poor on this photo but I wanted to include it - it was taken a few Sundays ago before church - he looks like a general authority with his pants pulled up and a long tie!

First Snow.

We had our first real big snow storm of the year last Friday night and Truman could not be happier.
All morning he wanted to go play in the snow.  I kept trying to convince him to wait until after breakfast so I could find the snow gear - my sister reminded me the kids are kids and that I should let him try it out without snow clothes {she was right, why was I trying to be so controlling - he would see quick enough that he really did want snow clothes on} - Truman was after all trying to convince me he was tough enough without snow clothes.
So out he went, in his PJ's - lesson learned - it was cold!
Bodie was perfectly happy to watch from inside where it was warm!

Our first snow.
It was like he was examining it trying to remember what snow was like.

 My little snow kid.
Bast aunt and uncle of the day for going out with him to play and make a sledding hill.
