Grandma Quinn.

One of the main reasons for our trip to Idaho was to celebrate my grandma Quinn's 80th birthday.
Here is the clipping from the newspaper about my grandma.

80th Birthday

Marlene LaRae Landon Quinn was born June 5, 1934 in Idaho Falls to Viola Cunningham Landon and Robert Dwain Landon.  She grew up in the Osgood Community, where she liked to play softball and go to dances.  She attended Osgood Elementary, O.E. Bell Jr. High and was in the last class to graduate from the old Idaho Falls High School building on 6th St. and Boulevard.

She went on a blind date with John D. Quinn to a barn dance where you paid for each inch your waist was.  She won a prize for having the smallest waist.  After dating for two weeks they were engaged and were married May 19, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple.  They are the parents of 7 children:  Aldean (Bliss) Wheeler, Allen (Christine) Quinn, Paul (Valine) Quinn, Vaughn (Cindy) Quinn, Sheila (Stuart) Purser, Wade (Beckie) Quinn, Ranae (Robert) Smith.  They have 37 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

She has been active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, leading the music and teaching.  Her and her husband served a mission in New Zealand and Australia. They have also served in the Idaho Falls Temple.
She likes to read, do crafts, quilts, puzzles and play games with family.  She enjoys having family gatherings and giving service to others.

Please join Marlene and her family for a celebration in honor of her 80th birthday on June 7th 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Coltman Church on the Lewisville Hwy.

All of her kids except one were able to attend.  It was great to see all my aunt and uncles and cousins.

One of my cousins wedding receptions was at the church last night we we just left up the tables and chairs and some of the decorations for the party today.
One of my aunts whipped together these center pieces
Cindy and {bishop} Vaughn!  My uncle Vaughn always brings matchbox cars for my boys and today was no exception.  And Cindy is the one who put together the center pieces.
We kidnapped Addie and took her to Idaho with us!
Addie and her great grandma Quinn.
Wade and Beckie
I put together a Project Life mini album with pictures and notes from everyone for my grandma ... and I FORGOT to take a picture of it :(  You can see some of the cards and the album sitting on the table.

Addie and Bodie had fun playing all weekend together, Bodie adores her.
With 37 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren there were LOTS of kids running around.
This is my favorite picture from the party decorations.
Allen, Vaughn {who's son Jake looked JUST like him as a child}, my dad and Aldean.

After the party we jumped into the car and headed back to Utah.
It was a quick trip but so fun to catch up with so many family members and to celebrate my grandma's great life!
