Church Ball.

Tonight marked the start of church ball season.
It was fun to see these cute boys cheering on their dads.

Future church ballers!

Hands.

Tonight for family night we traced our hands and cut them out.  We thought about the following questions;
"We are the Saviors hands, how can we follow Jesus by serving others?"
On our hands we wrote ways we can serve.
We hung our hands on our fridge to help remind us.

Pete and Tagg.

Tagg and Pete has been playing together a lot.
Today Tagg thought pushing Pete around in this stroller was pretty cool and Pete loved it too -- until they crashed!

They also like grandma's storage bins.

We also made up this game based on a Jimmy Fallon game about truth and lies.
You look in your box and then either tell the person sitting across from you a truth or lie about what is in your box.  Then they have to guess.

More Snow.

I know it's not that usual to have snow in January, it is winter after all, but we have had such a weak and weird winter that when it does snow it seems like such an odd phenomenon!
Today was one of those days, we got more snow and it was note worthy!
Truman helped me shovel the front steps and driveway.  When we were done he looked at me and said,
"Mom, Heavenly Father answered my prayers.  He made it snow."
He and one of the neighbor kids had fun for hours building this snow cave and a slide.

Sunday is brutal.

One o'clock church is awful.

Today Bodie would NOT hold still during Sacrament Meeting {and I knew it was because he was tired and was trying to stay awake}.  In a moment of weakness I sent him to the end of the bench to sit quietly.  Not two minutes later when I looked down the bench this is what I saw.

Bodie, head down and asleep.
Poor guy.
He still likes his afternoon nap.

Tagg turns one.

Tonight Nate, Lauren and Tagg came over to hang out with us and celebrate Tagg's upcoming first birthday.  They will be long gone to Japan for Tagg's first birthday so they let us celebrate a little early.  We gave Tagg some matching PJ's to our kids and a kid's Nalgene bottle.
Tagg and aunt Millie selfie.
Tagg striped down to his onesie and we were talking business for some cake eating.
 Birthday boy.
 Family picture.
 Quick hands.
This is the only close up of the cake that I took - earlier in the day when I was working on it.

It took some serious convincing to get Tagg to even touch the cake we made him.
He finally decided it was good.

His cousins wanted in on the action.
Before cake we had this yummy BBQ port and leak pizza I made.
We did an unofficial taste test and decided that "expensive" BBQ sauce is worth the extra few dollars it costs.  This Garland Jack's Secret Six that my recipe recommended was a good one.

Happy Birthday Tagg, we will miss you.

Growing?

Truman jumped off the kindergarten bus at 11:30 this morning and told me he was starving, despite the fact that he had two pancakes for breakfast.  We came home and made a second pancake breakfast.  He is turning into a true Simons boy and only wants grandpa Bob's homemade raspberry jam on his pancakes :)

I always feel like this is the time of year my kids grown the most.  They all have their birthday's coming up in the next few months and they seem to grow most right before those birthdays.  I guess this little boy is growing!

Sound Beginnings: White Horses.

Today was Bodie and Pete's last day of White Horses (part of Sound Beginnings).  All winter we have been going to our music class on Wednesday afternoons.  Pete loved it almost more then Bodie!

{Bodie's face in this picture!}

Unfortunately we are not going to continue with the second semester of Sound Beginnings right now.  I feel like I need to simplify life a little bit and so this is something that, although is a blast to go to each week, is not necessary right now.  We will miss seeing our friends every week.

Truman finished his first semester of his second year in Let's Play Music which was "Green Turtles".  Now we are starting Yellow Arrows.  He is so good about practicing his songs and loves that he can now play songs on the piano.
I snapped this quick picture of our piano before we had to take off the "red" "blue" and "yellow" cord stickers for the right hand.  They were well loved and worn from lots of practice.  Now he gets to start learning the left hand.

Snow.

We finally got some more snow and these two had a blast playing in it today.  I helped them make a sledding hill in the front of our yard and they giggled like girls all afternoon.
Such a ham.
I think they are happy to see snow!
The concentration.
We made a little "jump" that added to the adventure.
Truman found these two chunks of ice and insisted that we put them in the freezer.
He said the little one is to remind me of Bodie and the other to remind me of him!
Rosey cheeks after being outside all afternoon.
I am kind of obsessed with having a clear driveway!
Before and after pictures of my workout this afternoon.
