Grandma Vera's Baked Beans.

Grandma Vera's Baked Beans
Paul Quinn

Brown in hot oven:
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 pound diced bacon

Add, cook until clear:
2 large onions, diced
2 green peppers, diced

Stir in and simmer for 10-15 minutes
1 pound cubed ham, pre-cooked
3 12-ounce jars of Homemade Chili Suace
1 1/2 cups brown sugar (I leave this out and think they are still good)
1 1/2 cups catsup
3/4 cups Dijon Mustard

Drain and add to mixture:
3 53-ounce cans port and beans

Reduce briquets and simmer with top and bottom hear for one hour.  Crack lid slightly, allowing moisture to escape.  Beans should be slightly thick.

Refrigerate overnight - blended flavors make this a great second-day dish.

Tball.

Truman is having so much fun playing Tball.
Here are some highlights from the past few games.
Running the bases for a warm up before the game.
Bodie and Grandma Lynn

Gregg helping Truman get the right stance.
Big hitter.
Running into home for a score.
Truman's #1 fan!!!
Truman is #4
Another slide into home plate.
About half way through the season he started doing "The Sandlot" thing and pointing to where he was going to hit it the ball.
This was the day we dropped McKay off at the MTC - my parents went home, but then after two hours of being "empty nesters" they got in the car and came back over to Midway to go to the game!
Board already?
Again, the #1 fan {who wishes he was old enough to play}

Bodie playing ball with Grandpa Quinn - not sure how he can see the ball ...

Sometimes it turned into a dog pile on the field with everyone on the same team fiting over the ball!
Gotta' love four-year-olds!

Sometimes little brothers needs a turn!
He stance is a little funky, but at least his hat his high enough that he can see!
Grandma Lynn playing ball Bodie and cheering for Truman.

Father's Day 2013.

Happy Father's Day.
We love our dad.
Bodie is especially a daddy's boy.

I thought this paper that Truman brought home from primary was really cute.
What a great idea.
{It had a chocolate bar attached with Truman ate before we ever saw it!}
Brad, Bob and Gregg {Gregg's little brother and dad)
We had a nice Father's Day BBQ at McGowns.

This was about the only celebrating we did.
It was kind of a crazy {in an unexpected way} day - so we will do gifts and breakfast in bed and berry pie for Gregg another Sunday.
Bodie came home from nursery with this name sticker on his back - new nursery leaders?!
His nursery leaders emailed me this picture tonight and said he worked on "building a house" all during nursery today.
We finished off the day with a nice ride around the block - with a roll in his mouth!

Happy Fathers Day to our dad Gregg who is always so patient and loving, especially with the kids {who adore and maul him to death}.

And Happy Father's Day to my dad, who I gave a ride to the airport today for his gift!

Stewart Falls.

Today we hiked Stewart Falls by Sundance.  Truman was so excited - this is the first year that we won't be caring him anymore, he gets his own backpack, water, snacks and he gets to hike himself.
 Happy Father's Day weekend.
Gregg, Bodie, Truman and my dad.
 Helping?!
He was always concerned about waiting for everyone to catch up.
Snacks and water in the shade.
 Bodie enjoyed it.
 Look at those fingers!
The trail was like a regular highway - it was busy and very dusty.

He found the waterfall at the end with Grandpa and Grandma - he loved it.
Truman did the entire hike himself, all four miles.
I carried Bodie out and we had a nice conversation!
