This was a serious favorite pass time of ours when we would visit our grandparents in Idaho.

Book Club.

We had book club last week.  We listened to some episodes from the talk radio program "This American Life"  I loved it.  I am so glad I have been introduced to the program.  I like listening to the radio when I am cleaning, cooking or in the car {Gregg is a big talk radio listener} so that is where I get some of my love of listening.  We enjoyed an incredible panini and Italian soda bar while we discuss the episodes.

If you are interested in listening to the programs we did here they are
175: Babysitting
360: Switched at Birth
465: What Happened at Dos Erres
466: Blackjack
306: Seemed Like A Good Idea at the Time
470: Show Me The Way
299: Back From the Dead

I highly recommend the program.
You can download an app for $4.99 and listen to any episode.
Five stars out of five!
Thanks Rachael.

Next we are reading "Ecology of a Cracker Childhood" by Janisse Ray.

*P.S. This is my first post from my new MAC computer!  A big accomplishment!

Ring Cleaner.

My mom recently had her ring cleaned at the jewelers.  They told her the best way to clean her ring at home is to mix equal parts Mr. Clean and ammonia.  Leave your jewelry overnight and then brush with a toothbrush.  I tried it and my ring is sparkly clean.
I added a 'pin it' button to the top right column of my blog.

If you are reading this post, please pin-it to your Pinterest account.

Thanks for pinning!

BYU Fashion.

Pinned Image
I saw this and thought it was pretty funny.  You see 'fashion boards' like this all over the internet - I like this one all about fashion for the BYU football game!

Bodie.

Don't be fooled by this cute little boy saying "cheese" for the picture.
{he insisted on wearing Truman's baseball cap backwards all day - it was so stinkin' cute on him}

On Wednesday after we played in the pool all afternoon he was running around the house naked "drying off" when he peed right into my purse sitting on the kitchen floor.
Wednesday night we put him to bed - Gregg was laying down with Truman reading to him and I was headed out the door for a run when we heard a 'thud' and then a cry.  Bodie had climbed/fallen out of his crib and way laying on his back on the floor.  He is 18-months old and there is no way I am going to move him to a bed already.

Thursday morning everyone was ready to head out the door to music class.  I walked out of my bathroom to find that Bodie had stripped himself naked {including taking his diaper off} and was peeing on my bed.
Exhausted from playing with mom Friday morning while Truman was at preschool.

* Post Update: Sunday night Bodie pooped in the bathtub and Monday night he pooped in Grandma's tub.

"BYU" Game.

We went to our friends annual "BYU" vs."Utah" party last night.  I took the BYU water and Gatorade {pictured above} and the blue popcorn {pictured below}.
The candied popcorn turned out really good.  I used the following recipe I found on Pinterest.

12 cups popped popcorn
1 (14 oz.) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 (3 oz.) package flavored gelatin

(I could not find blue Jello anywhere so I bought Hawaiian Punch: Blue Berry individual packets, they tasted really good)

Heat oven to 300 degrees.  Line large shallow roasting pan with foil; extending foil over edges of pan.  Butter foil.

Remove all unpopped popcorn.  Pour popcorn into prepared pan.  Keep warm in oven.

Combine sweetened condensed milk and dry gelatin in medium saucepan.  Heat and stir over low hear until mixture is slightly thickened and bubbly, 4 to 5 minutes.

Pour mixture over popcorn.  Stir-gently to coat using a long-handled wooden spoon.  Bake 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.  Carefully turn out onto large piece of lightly buttered foil.  Cool.  Break into pieces or clusters.
That is alot of blue!!!

Friday Flashbacks.

My aunt posted this picture on Facebook this week.  It's my mom on the left and her older sister Christine on the right.  Love it!  Year?

I immediately thought of this picture!

Preschool.

Truman started preschool last week; two days a week for two and a half hours each day.  The first day we went together to meet his teacher, the second day the parents stayed for the first thirty minutes.  Truman was kind of disappointed that it was so short and that I stayed, he asked me if I could leave him for the entire day!
The first thing he said when I picked him up was
"Did you think about my while I was gone?"
The first day he came home with this poke-a-doodle sunshine.  They held a push pin in their hand and had to poke all the black dots around the sunshine.  It teaches them the correct way to hold a pencil.  How cool!
His first at home assignment was to decorate this sunshine with a picture of himself and the things he likes.  I think it turned out so cute!  Balls and the Lorax, that currently describes my little Truman.  The sunshine's are now hanging on the wall at school.
Last week after school he told me
"mom, today I am smart because I went to school"

My Grandpa Arave sent me these pictures this week.
He was my dad's scout master growing up in Coltman, Idaho.

Someone help we out with the year and who everyone is.

18-Months.

Bodie had his 18-month check up today.  I took my camera with me but we were in and out so fast I didn't take a picture.  I snapped this one as we were about to leave the parking lot - tired?  I think so, he was asleep before the car started to go!

{I took his PJ's and put him in them after the appointment because I knew he was tired and was pretty sure he would fall right to sleep}

Girlfriends.

We had kind of a crazy past eight days around our house.  Last Sunday morning the boys and I dropped Gregg off at the airport; he had a business trip in St. Louis all week.
After dropping him off we went to Herriman to my sisters to stay and play for a couple of days
{I blogged about that HERE}.

Friday morning I dropped Truman and Bodie off at my parents house so I could fly to Portland to play with some college girlfriends for the weekend.  Gregg was scheduled to fly in later that day, but after plane problems in St. Louis he missed a connection in Denver and didn't end up getting home until 24 hours after his scheduled return.  Bummer.  The kids ended up spending the entire day, the night and most of the next day at my parents {thanks everyone who pitched in and helped - it was suppose to be a few hours at grandma's and ended up being two days}.
Me, Kaite, Liz and Mary.
Rick's College friends.
I flew into Portland where Katie and her family picked me up.  Then we drove to Washington to the tri-cities area {I love that drive, it reminds me of summer vacations with my cousins at the Oregon coast} to meet up with Liz and Mary.

Liz lives in Maryland with her family but was going to be "home" in Washington for a week.  Mary is living in Spokane right now {with the military}, Katie is in Portland, and I am in Utah.  So, considering that usually we are all living in different states {across the states} we figured that we would try and get together while we were only a few hours from each other {I was the furthest away but when we started to talk about getting together I was happy to purchase a ticket and fly up for the festivities}.
We met at Liz's parents house for a BBQ with the kids and some fun in the back yard.  Between the four of us we have fourteen ... that's 14 kids!  I need to get busy ... I have the least with only two.  I tried to get a picture of each of the kids - they were so cute - I wished I could have had my kids and Gregg with me.
The girls in the play-fort.
Dessert time.
I love these girls.  We were such good friends in college - and still are.  They are the type of people who make you want to live a better life and be a better person.
Liz {in the black shirt} and I lived together one summer before our missions.  We served missions at the same time {her mission president was from my home ward in Park City}.  Katie {in the pink} and Mary {in the white shirt} both got married right after we left on our missions and they both had their first children while we were gone.  I still remember getting a letter and picture on my mission with Katie, her husband and their baby Taylor and thinking "we are getting so old"
Here is a little flashback for you!  In the fall of 2002 before our last semester at Rick's ended we all flew to Disneyland for a girls trip.
After we planned the trip I got my mission call to Los Angeles so we all stopped and took our picture at the "I love LA" store in the LAX airport {I had my picture taken here a few months later as a missionary}.  Liz was waiting for her mission call, Katie was about to get engaged and Mary was dating someone.
 Liz, Katie, Me, Mary
I would have never believed that 10 years later we would still be getting together and that we would have 14 kids between us!  I still can't get over that!
