Broken.

Last night I was at the new house cleaning up the construction site - Gregg was at home with the kids doing dinner.  I left dinner on the stove for everyone and when I got home it was still there, untouched, everyone watching a movie all snuggled together on the sofa.

Gregg explained that Bodie had been whining ever since he came in from jumping on the tramp and Truman was being a power-grump.

I fed everyone dinner and threw them all in my bathtub.  Bodie was still whining and not really using his right hand.  After a bath and PJ's we sat Bodie on our bed and tried to figure out where he was hurting.  He was able to tell us exactly where he hurt on his wrist, when we touched it he would cry and pull his arm away.

We asked our friend who is an ER nurse if he would come take a look and give us his opinion.  We ultimately decided to wait until morning to see our doctor - that way we would give it time for the swelling to do down and to see if Bodie was still complaining.

It was one restless night!
No sleep for Bodie, mom or dad.
The poor guy was in pain all night.

This morning when I called our doctor {who I know I talk very highly of on this blog because I love him} he told us to come right over.
Here we are waiting for x-rays.
 He was not a fan of the x-ray machine and I kind of don't blame him.
 The x-ray was obvious - there is a wrinkle fracture right below his left thumb {on his wrist}.
You can see where a little piece of the bone is sticking out to the left.
{That is Greggs hand you can see at the top of the x-ray holding Bodies hand down}

 By the time the x-rays were over and we made it back to the doctors office to have them read Bodie was out - poor guy.  He was asleep for most of the time the cast was being put on.

 I kept trying to keep him awake because I didn't want him to wake up with this big thing on his arm and wig out!  That face says it all.
Dr. Haderlie putting on the cast.
His face seriously ... so sad!
 A bright green cast,
$600 dollars gone from my wallet,
and one worn out little Bodie and we are on our way home.

Four weeks with this little cast and then more x-rays to see if it has healed.

{Bodie has since told us that he fell getting out of the tramp and that is how he broke his arm - no one actually saw the accident}

Oh, and today is our 8th Wedding anniversary.
Happy anniversary.

Our plans for the day were completely changed do to the fact that we had an unexpected trip to the doctors office this morning.  I asked Gregg on the way to the doctors what he would have thought if on our wedding day he would have known that eight years later we would be taking our two year-old in for a broken arm.  His response was, "I would have been so happy to know I had two boys"

We will have to celebrate another day.

Blanky.

Bodie has this special 'blanky' that he is pretty much attached to.
Its a little square blanket that is brown with white dots.
He asks for it every night.
I wanted to make sure I documented his love for his little 'blanky'
I wanted to also document the boys in their current bedroom just playing around.
Their beds are not usually made {!} but today they are because we were showing the house - so it doubled as a perfect day to document their room!
Look at Bodie bouncing around as usual - excited about something Truman is doing.
I don't keep any toys in their room and they don't play down here very often.  Usually they go down to make a fort or look at books.

Dutch Country Court.

The last few weeks at the house have been spent getting ready for the wood and framers.  There were a lot of little things that needed to be done like backfilling, rough pluming and flat work poured.  We also had some landscaping done.
The cleanest the garage floor will ever be.
Cold storage.
Our schedule was pushed back about one week do to rainy weather :(
We were really happy when all the wood showed up one day - time to see this house take shape.
We let the boys bring over some of their 'diggers' to play in the rocks and dirt.

That is a lot of floor trusses.
Great room wall with lots of windows!
View from the master bathroom tub!
I espcially liked my sister-in-law Sharon's comment about how much she liked the sky-lights!

Sound Beginnings: Recital

Today after soccer we rushed to the high school for a quick change of clothes in the bathroom for Truman and Bodies 'Sound Beginnings' recital - this is what I got when I asked them to smile for my picture!
Good memory!

"Everybody Clap Your Hands"
"Two Little Black Birds"
"Miss Mary Mack"
{Bodies favorite - he can sing almost the entire song by himself}

They got to go up with the older class and do their major scale - it was cute.

Bodie watching the older kids do their performance.
They each got an award and a flower at the end.
Miss. Emily also put together a little slide show at the end - I missed Bodies picture but here is Trumans cute 4-year-old smile!
Dosen't Truman look like the mack-daddy and Bodie is just a ham!
Here is their entire class.
Aiden, Kate, Truman, Elle, Dylan and Bodie.

I can't wait for "Let's Play Music" in the fall.

Women's Conference.

I just spent that last two days on BYU campus at Women's Conference with my sister Tiffany and her friend Alicia.
Campus was beautiful and the conference was uplifting.  I wish my mom, aunts, cousins and grandma could have been there.
The theme this year was;
"Continue your journey and let your hearts rejoice; for behold, and lo, I am with you even unto the end."
Doctrine and Covenants 100:12
We ate plenty of brownies!

The picture below is from the closing session where President Eyring spoke - that is a lot of women!

Here are a couple thoughts/quotes and impressions I wrote down over the past two days;

- We must listen, commit and be available to serve others

- Christ was already in Gethsemane so you need to go to another garden {when feeling down about something}

- Work so hard {as a mother and wife} that you work yourself out of a job

- The worlds greatest champion of woman and womanhood is Jesus Christ

- What kind of doors will I walk through in my life? Will I check my religion at the door?

- We are a religion of progression and not perfection and there is no due date.

Love my sister and loved spending two days with her!
{and I am super excited she is having a BOY}!
