photography.

I don't know what to call this kind of photo?
Maybe it already has a name?!
Retro.?
Photo Redo.?

A while ago my brother Anthony {or maybe it was Dallin?!} showed me some photos {on a blog I think} that were cool retro - redo photos.  I have wanted to try one but felt intimidated to do it - I finally tried and I think it turned out pretty cool.

The picture {inside the picture} was taken on August 3, 1998.  It's my brother Dallin - with Tiffany and McKay in the background hiding.

The actual 'picture' you are looking at I took today.

Since taking this photo my mind is going crazy with ideas for this kind of photo.  Stay tuned, I am going to try some more and post.

In the mean time I need to figure out what to call it.

Soapstone.

Today the boys and I went on a hike today with my parents.
We hiked about 5 miles of the Soapstone trail in the Uintas.
{Gregg had a long standing tee time at 8 AM with friends}
My parents were showing the Park City Stake girls camp ladies where to take the girls on their "5 mile hike" for one of the girls camp requirements.
{Check out Bodie in the picture above on my dads back, he looks dead!}
{I like the stick in his hand - there was a flower in his other hand}
 Bodie had the skills to walk, he just doesn't want to slow down long enough to actually do it!
 Yes, I took my boys in their pajamas.  It was an early morning and a windy day so it was just easier to leave them in their pj's although they still got a little cold.
Asleep again, it must be comfortable on grandpa's back.
And the classic shot - can you tell I handed my camera to someone else? Bummer, it looks like it would have been a cute picture.  I need to remember to change my camera setting to auto {I set all the setting before handing my camera cover, all the person had to do is take the picture ... it was even on auto focus}.
Whenever you are in the Uintas you have to stop in Kamas at the Chevron for donuts and apple fritters.  The boy scouts in line in front of us bought the last apple fritters so Truman decided on a chocolate donut with chocolate frosting.

Summer Planking 2012 - Soapstone.

A couple of days ago Truman asked if we could take pictures of him planking all of his summer activities!  Here we go!

Bodie.

Bodie {15 months}

He looks so grown up.

Now lets look at the difference in Truman and Bodie.  I don't think they look anything alike.

Baseball.

 We have been playing a lot of baseball lately.
Tonight we played in grandma and grandpa Simons backyard which is beautiful right now.
 Look at Gregg's mouth above and Truman's below, related?!
Like father like son.

 Go Grandma Lynn.
Check out Bodie hanging on for dear life!

Book of Mormon.

 Truman has been obsessed with reading his scriptures lately.  While at Desert Book this week I picked up this little blue Book of Mormon and had his name put on it - he was in heaven!  It is a very loved little book - he sleeps with it and brings it up stairs every morning when he wakes up.  Today was his first time taking it to nursery.
{I don't know if you can tell from the pictures but the Book of Mormon is much smaller then the typical blue missionary Book of Mormon - I didn't even know they made them this small}
He is always asking us to read it to him - we have started to add some pictures to the pages!

Adirondack Chairs.

Bodie has discovered that he likes his adirondack chair on the front deck.  Anytime the door is open he crawls out and up onto it - he will sit and watch what is going on outside.  Tonight he grabbed his bottle and crawled out to have some chocolate milk and watch the sun go down.  It was pretty cute when I found him out there 'chillin' in his chair - he was so tired.
Yes, that is a chocolate chip cookie in his hand, he wanted one with his chocolate milk!
