Date Night.

We went on a triple date tonight to Crown Burger and Savior of the World at the Conference Center.  My youngest brother was in it.

{Lauren & Nate, Grandma & Grandpa Arave, McKay in costume, Gregg & Camille}

I know these pictures are not the greatest, but I wanted to remember the night, we had a good time.

PS- I am still going to post about Thanksgiving {a little out of order} but I am waiting to get pictures from my Mother-in-law.

Thanksgiving

I saw this advertisement in a magazine and found myself looking at it for a long time so I decided to ripe it out and share.  I was remembering all the crock pots we had growing up - I even found my own {fourth row down, second from the left}.  Is your crock pot on the list?

Happy slow cooking and Happy Thanksgiving!

Maui

Gregg and I just got back from a great vacation to Maui.
What nasty weather to come home to.  Hawaii always has perfect weather.

I took this picture on Ukumehame Beach

Olowalu Beach.

We went to different beaches at night to watch the sun go down.
The beaches on west Maui along the Honoa Pi'ilani Highway are suppose to be the best.

I asked Gregg if he wanted to be in the picture, and this is his pose.

Black Rock Ridge

Along the Ka'anapalo beach there is a 3 mile paved walk way.  At the end is this black rock ridge where the snorkeling is really good.  We rented snorkeling gear for the week and had a good time finding good places to snorkel.  Here we swam out around the end of the ridge to the other side.

The path back to our hotel.  So green!

king kamehameha club house.

One of my favorite architects, Frank Lloyd Wright had designed a house that was never built but later adapted into a golf club house on Maui.  Gregg and I drove up to the golf course so we could check out the architecture.  The inside was very cool, but I felt funny taking pictures inside.

Marriott.

We stayed at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club in Lahaina.
There was a couple from our ward staying there as well - when they left the brought us all their left over food.  It was so thoughtful of them and we enjoyed it {we had a kitchen, bedroom, living room}.

view from the lobby looking out toward the pool and ocean.
This would be a great resort to bring a family too - very kid friendly.

I remember the first time I went to Hawaii I was shocked that the hotels were indoor/outdoor.
I kept telling Gregg I wanted it to rain really hard so I could see all the rain come into the hotel.

This picture was taken when we got back from church.
My aunt made me the pregnancy skit - thank you Ilene - I love it!  So comfortable.
{24 weeks pregnant}

This is the beach that the Marriott is on.  So beautiful and not very crowded.
Ka'anapai Beach.

Road to Hana.

The famous 'Road to Hana'  is as bad as they say!  It has 617 curves but it is beautiful.

We got the best deal on a rental car for the week and when we checked in they upgraded us to this Camero. We had a good time driving it.

We took a little side road detour of the highway to Hana and stopped in Ke'anae.  There was a little tiny Hawaiian lady fishing in the rain - she said she trades her fish at the market for food and supplies.

Twin Falls.

On the LONG road to Hana we stopped at Twin Falls.  It was about a mile hike in from the road.  Our tour book said to stop on the side of the road where we saw the "fruit stand" I love how nothing in Hawai'i is market or labeled.

mama's fish house.

Mama's Fish House was highly recommended to us.  It is in the city of Pi'ia.
We stopped on our way home from Hana.
Gregg liked there tile walkway.
It was such a pretty night with some low clouds over the mountains.  This picture was taken looking toward West Maui over some sugar cane fields.

"kick the ball"

At Truman's 18-month appointment the doctor asked if he could stack blocks.  I didn't know because we don't have any blocks - but he does know how to kick a ball!  Truman LOVES balls - all kinds, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, tennis balls, golf balls.  And he knows how to use each of them.

I wanted to try and capture a picture of him kicking a ball.  He runs around the house saying "kick the ball".  He will set the ball down, back up several feet and then run and kick it.  He's got skills!
