flagstaff, arizona.

We made a quick weekend trip to Flagstaff Arizona to visit my sister and her family.  Here are some of the adventures we packed in!

Tiffany makes awesome tamales.  We made 120 of them to freeze, but of course I forgot to bring mine home, I guess they will be enjoying tamales for a long time {I will post the recipe and step by step instructions later}

McKay ditched school for two days and went with us.  We didn't tell Hopkinson's we were bring him.  Tiffany screamed when he walked into the house and her kids were SO excited when they woke up and saw 'uncle K K' asleep on the sofa.

soo gooood!

Quinn showing us her 'baby alive' that eats and poops.  It was like having an extra kid around.

Enoch showing off on his tricycle.

Addie riding home from school {very excited that we brought her bike to ride home}.

Little Enoch crossing by himself .

cousins.  Jean and Truman {three weeks apart}.

the 'adults' playing games at night.  I really like this new game they introduced to us.  It was called "set" it is totally a girl game - Tiffany and I beat Mckay, Aaron and Gregg every time {it's kind of a multi-tasking game}.

Getting ready for winter - we had a wood chopping afternoon.

Cousins.  Addie and Truman.

This is the motor home of my dreams.  I wanted to buy it but I still have not convinced Gregg of my idea.  I really want to buy a cute, old, retro motor home and fix it up {pimp it out} with nice wool carpet, travertine bathroom, granite counter tops, custom bedding and draperies.  Aaron and I thought this motor home would look nice in chrome with the green stripe.  Aaron thought the neighbor would sell it to me for $50.  It was a win - win situation until it SOLD to someone else.... bummer.

On Saturday afternoon Tiffany and I shuttled the boys and all the kids to the top of a mountain so they could mountain bike down.

Uncle "greggie" with the pumpkins.
{check back on halloween for more pictures of the kids in consume}.

Enoch trying to keep up with his dare devil dad and uncle.  He insists on riding his bike down this dirt hill - it is so dangerous.

Thanks Hopkinsons for a great weekend.

friday flashbacks.

This is one of my all time favorite pictures.  I still remember when my mom took this picture because I wanted to hold my blanket but she would not let me because I would mess up my clown makeup - so she put my blanked behind me to lay on.

fall family photos.

We had family photos taken a few weeks ago.  I loved them all - I had a hard time deciding which ones to post.  Photos complements of the very talented Ahsley Swapp Photography - check her out!  Thank you Ahsley you made us look good!  I love Truman's different faces. Enjoy!

book club.

Today was our book club. We had brunch {crepes, bacon, fruit and orange juice, yummy} and discussed "the curious incident of the dog in the night-time” by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. I really liked the book - I thought it was very cute.  Thanks Tami.

I give this book four stars out of five {maybe even four and a half stars}.

Next we are reading "The Strnage Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Where?

Everyone is getting in on the 'friday flashbacks' action.  My dad has been scanning in old slides and making them into digital pictures.  My mom scanned over 5,000 photos last weekend from when we were little kids...lots of good 'friday flashbacks' to come!

estate sale.

I have been going to some great Estate Sales around Midway and Park City.  On Thursday I took my mom with me to an estate sale in Park City where I picked up these great pieces.

1] A classic white vase for $20.  A perfect "decorating" piece for almost any style.  I am very excited about it {this is the kind of thing you would find at Pottary Barn for $80 + dollars}.

2]  A small toile foot stool for $40 {price tag said $125}.  I think I will put it in Truman's room, it has a little French boy and girl on it.  Again, a classic piece.

3]  A baby quilt for $8  {My mom estimated that this quilt would cost $50 to make}.  It is an adorable quilt for a little girl with paper doll fabric on one side and a small pink flower pattern on the back.  Once I wash it I will have to pack it away and hope I have a girl some day!

There was alot of other really nice furniture at the sale.  It would have been fun to pick up some more pieces, but I am not really in need of more furniture right now.

happy baby.

This is how Truman sucks his thumb.  So cute!
{so far he only sucks it when he is tired}.

Thanks for all the encouraging words on 'rice cereal.'  Yesterday evening Gregg tried to feed him rice cereal while a girlfriend and I made a quick 'craft' run to Provo.  Today Truman would not open his mouth for me to feed it to him - now what?

We started rice cereal this week.  What a mess.
Am I ready to do this everynight?

PS- We did a video of his first taste - I am going to try and figure out how to edit it and then I will post it.

friday flashbacks.

Sisters
Tiffany and Camille {Quinn}
If I remember right this is Tiffanys first day of school and I was bummed she was leaving and I didn't get to go.  I have always loved how I am holding her neck in this photo!  I think the year would be 1986 {maybe 1985}.
