Hawai'i
Ka Lae (South Point).
Mauna Kea.
Mauna Kea is a large volcano on Hawaii (13, 796 feet). We could not go all the way to the top because of my pregnancy - but we went to the visitor center and did a little hike up a peak to see the sun set. That night they got out powerful telescopes for us to see the stars (including Jupiter's moons). It was VERY cold that high up!

here HE is.
Here he is. No shame, he basically did the splits for us! It's a boy. My intuition from the beginning has been that it was a boy. Gregg thought for sure it was a girl so I think he was shocked at first.
The pregnancy so far has been just fine. Thanks to all those who have been so helpful and thoughtful. It got off to a painful start when at 8 weeks I broke out in shingles. Then we could not find a heartbeat for 4 weeks in a row. My uterus was growing and I was throwing up everyday (signs of a healthy pregnancy). Finally at about 12 weeks they did an ultra sound and everything looked great. Due the middle of April.
(in this photo you are looking up at his bum cheeks, legs, and boy parts!)

called to serve.
Take a guess
Where do you think my little brother Dallin will go on his mission?
You have 10 days to guess.
Dallin will buy who ever guesses correctly a pound of candy from the BYU bookstore(and ship it to you!)
(I made him this sign to hang up in his appartment at BYU for friends to write their guesses on)

body world.
McKay and I went to the "Body World" exhibit in Salt Lake for family home evening tonight (Gregg had no desire to go so we decided to go while he was still out of town). Very interesting.
I would encourange anyone who is in a city where the exhibit is coming to get tickets. I believe it is in Salt Lake until December 24.

homemade potato chips.
My mom has a big box of my Grandpa Quinns' Idaho grown potatoes sitting in the garage - tonight my little brother McKay and I decided to make our brother-in-law Aaron's famous homemade french fies, except we experimented and made homemade potato chips! Enjoy.
Aaron's Perfect Oven Fries (or potato chips)
6 pounds potatoes
1/4 cup oil
salt and pepper
seasoning salt
Peel potatoes and slice into large fries (or use the Bosh blades). Cover potatoes with HOT tap water and soak for at least 15 minutes. Replace the water with new hot water at least once (this gets the starch out of the potatoes).
Preheat oven in 476 degrees (make sure the rack is in the lowest position). Coat a baking sheet with 3 tablespoons of oil. Sprinkle a generous layer of salt onto the oil, then pepper.
Drain fries and pat as dry as possible. Arrange the fries on the baking sheet so all potatoes are laying flat. Drizzle remaining 1 tablespoon of oil over the fries. Cover with aluminum foil, shiny side down (make sure to create a good seal - this allows the fries to steam cook first). Place in oven on bottom rack in the lowest position. Bake 10 minutes before removing aluminum foil. Bake an additional 15-25 minutes depending on thickness (my may want to flip them once).
Remove from oven, and place on paper towels to cool and absorb excess oil.
Serve with fry sauce!

One of my girlfriends Jamey from Park City is getting married this weekend. A bunch of us got together Monday night at the spa for a bridal party. We were there for over 4 hours - we got massages, pedicures, facials, body wraps, etc.

I hate when I get behind in my 'journal' (aka - blogging).
Unfortunately I need to do an update, so here goes.
Krista (one of Gregg's younger sisters) came to town for a week long visit. She has been taking cake decorating classes and made us this amazing cake (including the fondant) It hit the spot!
Quinn (3)
Enoch (1) dipping his burrito into Uncle Nates root beer!
Uncle McKay and Addie (5)
Tiffany + Me + Dallin + McKay + Addie + Nate + Enoch
My sister Tiffany and her husband Aaron came to town with their three kids for a visit (actually it was a work trip for Aaron - he was recruiting BYU students to work for GORE). We had a lot of fun playing, making Halloween cookies, etc. Before they left my mom treated us all to Cafe Rio.
